Typewriters Died Today (Sad)

Goodbye Typewriters (RIP). Who's next?
April 26, 2011 will forever be the day the typewriter, the wonderboy of the early 20th century, officially breathed its last breath. Godrej and Boyce, the last typewriter company, closed out its factory in Mumbai, India. It's reason for closing? They aren't getting any more new orders.

It's just sad. I never truly mastered the art of typewriting. I will miss the sound that typewriters make when you type in on its keys. It's just sad because the genius of all the Industrial Revolution has long been eaten and skinned alive by the advent of the Digital Revolution.

However, all's not lost for typewriters. I suggest if you have one, KEEP IT! If you don't have one, buy one! I know they come in dirt-cheap. If you get to take great care of your typewriter within the next 20 years, they'll be worth a lot! Imagine how much jukeboxes and grandfather clocks are worth right now! In the future, typewriters will be it!

Celebrities like Michael Jackson, Liz Taylor and Elvis Presley were worth more than how much they were worth when they were still alive. Typewriters will be worth a lot in the future. Believe me.
