New Personal Mantra

You cannot know what sweet is unless you've tasted salty
You wouldn't know what bad is unless you know how it was to be good.
You wouldn't know what darkness is if you haven't experienced light
Therefore, you will not know what success is if you've never experienced failure.

*something I've learned earlier today from office training. Thanks Sir Bong!

Carrie Underwood - How Great Thou Art

I hope you, my loyal reader, will be able to appreciate this blogpost about my views as a Christian. Unknown to a lot, I'm a devout Latter-day Saint, more popularly known as Mormons. I value my Christian beliefs well and for this cause, I hope I can share to you a simple message that Christ was never an ordinary man. This youtube video shows Carrie Underwood singing "How Great Thou Art." Thanks.

O Lord my God
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds
Thy hands have made
I see the stars
I hear the rollin' thunder
Thy power throughout
The universe displayed.
Then sings my soul
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art!
When Christ shall come
With shouts of acclamation
And take me home
What joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclaim,
"My God, how great Thou art!"
Then sings my soul
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art
How great Thou art
Then sings my soul
My Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art
How great Thou art!...

Can You Tell Me Why?

The song I Can't Tell You Why could have been the very first song that I got to keyboard for our Senior Prom (close to a decade ago). Which brings me to the question, Why on earth wasn't I able to play it out? Why did I frigging chicken out during practice jam sessions? Why is the song playing on my mind right now?

Why does the sun go on shining is a part of a song that I have no idea what the title is. I thought the song is lame. Why was it ever a hit song? Who was the person singing it and why did she ever recorded that? Were they paying homage to the sun? Why was she questioning the sun's light and why was she declaring that it's already the end of the world?

Why does Monday come before Tuesday was from the song Why by 3T and Michael Jackson. 3T was a group composed of Michael Jackson nephews. Why on earth did they have the nerve to record and album and think they'd be successful because they were Michael Jackson nephews? If you've seen the video, you'd realize that the Michael Jackson nephews looked like a 90s Milli Vanilli. What's with their gay-faces (no offense to LGBTs)? Why were their haircuts that bad? Why were they two-hit wonders (the other being I Need You)?

You know the reason why I wrote up this article. I have no other reason but to keep on typing why. Why did I think of such a thing? If you thought my article was lame, why did you keep on reading through it?

Why won't you comment instead?

Why not?

Lindsay Lohan Gets A Beating

Lindsay Lohan, the poster girl of troubled Hollywood young stars club, was finally given the thing she so needed from the time she started going nuts - a jail sentence. The judge sentenced her to 90 days in prison on grounds of reckless driving and two counts of DUI. While the sentence proved to give Lohan the biggest cry of her life, it proved to us all, normal webizens of the world, that nobody can really escape consequences for actions, even Hollywood big-names.

If Linsday won't change for the better after this, I honestly don't know what will (change her). The sentence felt good, knowing that Ms. Lohan desperately needs a spanking to get herself and her life back in shape. Meanwhile, here's the Associated Press video of her during the trial.

The New Miami Heat

Ladies and Gentlemen, here's your new Miami Heat.

As if this has been the most exciting thing that had happened on NBA for probably the past decade (I still think LA's 2003 inclusion of Malone and Payton was bigger though), LeBron and Chris Bosh joined friend Dwayne Wade on what arguably would be the most exciting pre-season starter for this new decade.

To the Filipino perspective, this should be really, really exciting since the Fil-Am coach Erik Spoelstra will be given a bigger chance to bite into the limelight, probably showing to the world that the Philippines will always be one of the world's biggest basketball-crazy countries.

To the Miami Heat fan, this should be a coming-of-age party. Shaq's return-to-Florida Miami Heat stint proved to be not too successful, giving the franchise only a single championship back in 2006. A LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and the not-too-famous-yet-really-efficient Chris Bosh triumvirate would prove to be something that every team should watch out for. How many titles can their six year contract produce? At least two would be satisfactory perhaps.

To the Anti-Laker fan, this should be a really, really good reason to celebrate. They for sure are jumping up and down with the thought of a super team that on paper might have been hands-down superior over them. But let's see - LeBron vs. Ron, Chris vs. Pau, Dwayne vs. Kobe. Hmmmm, really interesting right? How about coach Erik and Phil? Or do they have a 6th man compared to Lamar Odom?

I hope the new Miami Heat would not be a replica of the 2003-2004 Lakers. Remember how 4 superstars were on one team yet they were outballed by the spectacular Detroin Pistons defense? I mean yeah, good for LeBron because a Dwayne Wade-Chris Bosh supporting cast will be a lot more efficient than an aging Shaq-Mo Williams back-up.

Though I feel bad for the Cavaliers, maybe this will be Mo Williams' moment where he could be his own star and shine for the now-depleted Cleveland line-up. Maybe they will face a resurgent New York Knicks sometime during the playoffs and resume their bitter and sometimes dramatic rivalry? Or maybe face a Boston Celtics that will still have the capable knees (think Rajon Rondo) to run an upset over the Heat? Or maybe they might face a championship experience-rich LA Lakers in the finals with the finals decided on a winner-take-all Kobe-LeBron showdown?

There will be plenty of story lines and plots to be discovered over the next six years. But one thing's for sure - the heat in Miami hasn't even started yet.

Blogging At Work (What The...)

For starters, this is actually my very first time to blog during work hours. Not sure if I should be jumping up and down regarding it but yeah, this is a milestone for me. I'm way too conscious that every time a person passes by me, this small Google chrome window gets minimized in an instant.

I can still vividly remember my boss when she answered my question regarding making blog posts during work. With her short hair tucked in her ears, arms crossed on her white sweater, she told me that no, I wouldn't have time to make blog posts during work.

So yeah, I kept that in mind, and I've been exactly obedient for 10 months. Ten freaking long busy months.

So how does it feel to be actually blogging from work? Here are my thoughts:

* Since I've seen other officemates do it, why can't I?

* It feels great. Like how a mouse would play when the cat's away.

* I hope I won't be repeating this over and over again. Still got a nice and clean conscience though.

*Hail to blogging! Haha!
