Retrenchment 101

"Hanggang July 30 na lang kayo"
-from my operations head referring to 5 of us from our eight-man advertising team.

i kinda knew it would happen. refer to it as my ever-reliable instincts. what's the best way to react to it? play it cool like what i did over some sizzling sisig and buffalo wings? puff it out on marlboro sticks and vent out your nervousness on various deep puffs? cry and tell everybody you will miss them? or ask about your separation pay kinda like what i did as well?

its kinda hard to deal with it especially when it came in out of nowhere. i knew our company was into some rough times, but never did i guess that we would all (well, almost) get cut. i just had the feeling that i would be chopped off just right before we got into that restaurant here in pasig city. somehow, i got to prepare myself on what to expect. my lovable boss was surpisingly silent and nervous. the first word he uttered was when he gulped a quarter-bottle of san mig light. i knew it was coming. i will be cut off and i should be cool about that.

so tonight, i just applied over at at least 10 companies via jobstreet, texted my dad, spoke with my friends and made plans for the next 20 days. tomorrow (saturday), i will be able to make plans clearer.

So help me God.

If you believe in your self, knows your ability and limitation, there is nothing to be afraid of.

Only those who doesn't prepare for contengencies are left behind. Your in the right path in planning ahead... at least for now.

Ah... So that's why....

If things don't go your way, don't stay down.

There are other fields of work just waiting for you to grasp them.

Think positive! Wag kang aayaw!! XD

Take care always!! :D
